Taylormade R7 Cgb Max Irons Serial Number: A Must-Have for Every Golfer
I looked at my irons again this morning in better light and was able to see the serial number on the 7 iron. It was very faint, but at least its there. Thanks for your replies.
Me too. In better light I saw mine on the 7 iron. Very faint.

Serial Number: It will probably check out with TaylorMade find out if their records show the same shaft, flex, and set composition as you bought. Mine was perfect except that it should have been 4-SW and the barcode label on the 7 iron said it was a 4-AW set. Also, compare the font shape of the serial number with that of a real one. And is it printed on the surface or engraved into the metal?

Finally, their serial number system is practically pointless. Fakes most likely have the same serial number copied off a real club and there's probably several hundred sets out there with the same number. Why are they not tracking registrations, number of verifications and the exact distribution channel of every single item that someone calls in to verify or registers online. Surely some patterns and red flags would start to emerge.

The serial numbers can be found etched into the back of the hosel on drivers, fairways, and rescue clubs. For iron sets, the serial number can be found on the 5-iron (or the 7-iron for newer product), and neither wedges nor putters will have a serial number.

Authentic TaylorMade golf clubs have a serial number on the hosel of each wood and on the 5-iron or the 7-iron (depending on the model) in each set of irons. If your club does not have that serial number, it may not be a genuine TaylorMade.

Titleist serial numbers in the past were mostly etched into the metal itself. Starting around 2013 they started using a laser to add serial numbers to their drivers, fairway woods, hybrids, and Scotty Cameron putters. From what I have seen, their iron sets are still etched into the metal. On Scotty Cameron putters it is located on the shaft up near the grip usually between the bottom of the grip and the top of the shaft band. With the newer drivers and fairway woods, it is located on the sole instead of the hosel. On iron sets that are off the shelf, the serial number is on the 6 iron and on custom ordered sets, the serial number is on all irons.

TaylorMade serial numbers are normally put on with a laser and are smooth to the touch just like most counterfeit clubs. Normally, the counterfeit serial numbers are in a different font and specifically a larger font. On many of the newer Taylormade drivers and fairway woods, the real serial number will be very light colored gray writing. Iron sets will have the serial number on either the 5 iron (for older models) or the 7 iron (on newer models). They have recently started putting serial numbers on the the hosel of all of the irons to confuse counterfeiters and are not used for registration or spec lookup. Taylormade putters and wedges do not have serial numbers. Tour issue clubs have a serial number that starts with a T.

Mizuno iron sets will have the serial number on the hosel of every iron. Mizuno clubs normally have the serial number lasered on, but it will be in small writing. Fake clubs will look like it is lasered on, but the writing will be much larger and a lot of times will only be on one club. This would be the same for Mizuno drivers and fairway woods. For iron international iron sets (Europe/Asia) the serial number is on the shaft underneath the grip.w

Callaway clubs normally have the serial numbers laser etched on and it is on one club for iron sets. There will also be a tiny 2D barcode next to the serial number. This holds true for Driver, Fairway woods, and odyssey putters as well. Although recently it seems that Callaway has stopped putting serial numbers on their fairway woods and hybrids, so if you have a recent model it may no longer have a serial.

Ping clubs will be harder to tell because they have recently started using laser etching on their newer clubs. It used to be that all their serial numbers were actually etched into the metal. It has just been in the last couple of years they have started using the laser etching process. On iron sets, Ping puts the serial number on all clubs. On the newer drivers and fairway woods the serial numbers are on the sole of the club back toward the hosel.

Most manufacturers do not offer a way for you to verify whether or not a serial number is authentic. The main reason for this is counterfeit club makers can easily take an actual serial number and stamp it onto their clubs. There are a couple of manufacturers that allow you to register your clubs on their website. Part of the registration is inputting the serial number on the clubs. This is also not a full proof way of determining whether or not a set of clubs is fake or not, as most of those sites will accept any serial number that is enter.

Hi there I was wondering if anyone has heard of augolfclubsonline.com, they calaim to be the real deal operating from Sydney Australia, however I ask them to provide me with ta contact number, they said they only do emails. I ask abut the low prices, why that is, they said they buy directly from manufacturer and post to customer as a gift. Serial number , well they said when I get my clubs i can check to the serial numbers. This is a fake site and the prices are extremely cheap. If anyone else has had encounters with fake websites or other crooks please let us all know. We do want to save however not get shafted literally by these bastards.

Recently purchased what was suspose to be taylormade R11 driver for 260.00 a good price and about 30-50 less than ebay from supplycheapgolf.com website, total counterfeit had it checked out by Edwin Watts Golf store, and the only way I found out was when I went to make loft adjustment set screw would not tighten clubhead back onto shaft, and I noticied this the first day I received the club originating from China, immediately contacted website via email, phone number does not work and have been getting runaround ever since, avoid this website as it is nothing more than a fraudulent website making money selling counterfeit clubs, hope no one else gets burned like I did.

I have been to Shezhen were many club manufactures plants are and there are and alot more plants in surrounding cities and in hong kong . There are thousands of club makers and most of them are not for the brand name companies , Most of them produce at best a poor made copy , but there are a few that make an awsome club that you could not tell apart from the ones in your pro shop . Beware that almost all the sites that have been mentioned in this forum are all selling copies and most are probably poor made fakes . Those golfers who have to have the authentic clubs with matching serial numbers and think that will improve thier game , go to your pro shop and get your clubs , and rest easy , Those of you who will buy on ebay take a chance , those of you who want the real thing and try a chinese wbsite , good luck with that , and dont bitch about it later . If you wait till the end of the season you are going to get a great deal on the clubs you want , I always am a year behind on my equipment just for the reason of seeing what is the best that year , then I try it and get my equipment for a great price . No worries .

I was wanting to know some information on these websites. and I just purchased a taylormade r11 driver and taylormade burner 2.0 irons. spent $530. Then came across this site and now I am extremely worried about my purchase.

Hi does anyone know about They have really low prices and free shipping. They say the clubs come from a OEM supplier. They also say the clubs come with serial numbers and that they will give them to you if you want.

I was looking at buying another iron set on ebay and I found a couple different listings on there that are selling ping and taylormade iron sets that seemed ridiculously low. The site that is suppose to be supplying these clubs is The site claims to be selling the clubs at the wholesale price that golf retailers buy them at. It shows pictures of serial numbers on the clubs, but with the price being so low, it seems a little too good to be true. Anyone have any ideas or information about this supplier.

These site also offer Lefty clubs and assured me that all their clubs have serial numbers and will checkout with Titleist. I saved the convos to use if they are fake. They also said they regulate their prices according to the volume of products and that a lot of these prices will end at the end of April. While some clubs have amazing deals, others are not. I believe this site might be legit. Thoughts?

Does anyone have any info on the sites buycheapgolf.com or ourdiscountgolf.com. They have some unbelievable prices on clubs (AP2s for $360) The site have some broken english on the descriptions, but their site phone number is an Chicago area code. Has anyone had any experience with this site? Any help would be appreciated. I am in desperate need of some new irons, but low on cash. Just looking for the best deals without getting ripped off. Thanks.
